Upgrade of safety standards for inflatable toys

In November 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued four newly revised mandatory national standards for toy safety, optimizing and upgrading the safety technical indicators of inflatable toys and other products. The new standard has added technical specifications for open flame device toys, food shaped toys, and optimized specific requirements for products such as yo yo and inflatable toys in the field of physical safety. In terms of chemical safety, new limit requirements have been added for 10 types of harmful substances, including formaldehyde and total volatile organic compounds (TVOC). The formaldehyde limit value for key materials in infant and children's toy products under 36 months old is set to ≤ 30mg/kg
